Merchandise Handler: Harvard, IL

Our customer in Harvard, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting Merchandise Handlers to work full-time on 3rd shift. They are seeking motivated individuals to join their team who can contribute to the overall success of the company.

Responsibilities of the Merchandise Handler:

Unload merchandise from trailers, lifting cartons and product

Check goods received against purchase orders or invoices

Stack and load cartons and other containers for outbound shipment

Stock shelves with goods received

Maintain and verify records of goods received or shipped to facilitate the flow of merchandise through the distribution center

Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move merchandise

Utilize small hand tools, pallet handlers and hand trucks

Select and pick product for shipment from computerized store order requests, matching inventory to order numbers

Prepare merchandise for shipping using shrink wrap machine or other devices

Use mobile handheld or hands-free RF devices to scan and track materials

Merchandise Handler Requirements and Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required

1-2 years of experience in Distribution, Warehouse, Supply Chain, or similar industry preferred

Ability to do simple mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy of counts.

Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and discern moving objects and warning signals

Occasional lifting and lowering of 50-85lbs

Ability to lift and lower of 20-50lbs

Good at multi-tasking would be a benefit in this role

Pay for Merchandise Handler: $17.60/hour.
